I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Gabrielle van Wely. After 28 years of work as a trader and account manager in the international trade and financial sector, I extended my love for cooking at my 52nd with a love for making patisserie.
Learning this last craft at the Bakery Institute in Zaandam has learned me the variety and taste sensations of patisserie. Over the last year I've developed and applied the different techniques for making patisserie that I hereby would like to offer you. The photos and contents of the combined savoury and sweet tasting can be viewed here on the website.
Growing up with the delicious rice table of my Indonesian father and Dutch mother (who also makes wonderful Dutch recipes!) the multicultural food was already there from childhood. Besides the Dutch and Indonesian cuisine, making patisserie is like a dream come true.
Another dream, living at the Spaarne in a monument with a view at the mill De Adriaan, I also managed to achieve with my husband in 2016.
My pastry tasting
My two dreams are now coming together in my Patisserie tasting at the Spaarne. Here you can pick up a combined (sweet and savoury) patisserie tasting to eat at your home, on the boat, on a walk along the Spaarne or through the beautiful city and parks of Haarlem. Another possibility is to enjoy, for two hours, the tasting as high tea in our private living room with unique view of the Spaarne. I would like to meet you at Hooimarkt in Haarlem!
